Referencing 17th century collections such as Ferrante Imperato’s, this work recreates a faux cabinet of curiosities on the ceiling of the gallery. Detailed watercolours sample the collections of several Scottish museums creating a trompe l’oeil of cut-out watercolours. In this presentation the paintings are arranged on the tobacco stained ceiling as if caught in a maelstrom. (see also 2006)
